Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and [Operating company, to be named when the entity is formed] for the tuts4tots website, the parent dashboard, the tutor application and the curriculum content. Please read them; they say what the service is, and just as importantly, what it is not.

Who may use the service

You must be an adult and the parent or legal guardian of any child who uses the tutor under your account. Children use the tutor through an adult's account and with an adult nearby.

What the service is, and is not

The service is software: a bilingual AI tutor that runs on your computer, a dashboard for parents, and curriculum content. It is not a school, not a school of record, not an accredited program, and not a licensed teacher.

You remain responsible for meeting your state's homeschool requirements and for any filing your state expects. The records tools help you keep records; they do not file anything on your behalf and they do not certify that you are compliant with anything.

About the tutor

The tutor is software that generates its responses. It can be wrong, and you should expect it to be wrong sometimes. It tells children that it is an AI at the start of a lesson and reminds them to take breaks. It is not a friend, a companion or a confidant, and it is not a substitute for an adult.

If the tutor detects a serious safety concern it stops the lesson, tells the child to find a grown-up, and notifies your dashboard. It does not contact emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One account serves one family unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to defeat the safety or privacy protections in the software, to reach another family's data, to resell the service, or to use it for a child you are not the parent or guardian of without that parent's authority.

Payments

Subscriptions are billed through our payment processor. Purchases made through an education savings account program follow that program's rules. The card verification used for your permission is explained, including any refund, on the screen where you give it. Refund terms for subscriptions are the ones stated at the time of purchase.

Curriculum content

Curriculum packs are licensed to you for your family's own use. Materials published under open licenses keep their own licenses and attributions, which the software shows you. You may not redistribute packs or remove attributions.

Our property

The software, the tuts4tots name and marks, and our original content belong to us or to our licensors. These terms give you a right to use them, not ownership of them.

Ending the relationship

You may cancel at any time. The export and deletion tools remain available to you afterwards. We may suspend an account for misuse, with notice where that is reasonable.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is, and to the extent the law allows we make no warranties and limit our liability. [Counsel to complete this section.]

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. [Counsel to confirm and add dispute-resolution terms.]

Changes to these terms

We will post changes on this page and note when they take effect.
